CMHA’s commitment to safe, sustainable, and dynamic communities of choice is not limited to housing. CMHA also promotes dynamic communities by creating diverse, inclusive economic opportunities for residents, participants, and businesses of the communities we serve. Through its Advancing Community Employment (ACE) program, CMHA fosters access to training and jobs by aspiring to have at least 25% of work hours on its projects staffed with residents, participants, or low-income individuals from the community. For these workers, the ACE program can become a steppingstone toward meaningful, sustained employment. CMHA also consistently awards significant contracting opportunities to minority-owned and women-owned businesses. In 2022 alone, CMHA awarded over $7.7 million in Capital Fund Project contracts alone to such businesses. As a steward of taxpayer dollars, CMHA seeks to cultivate economic growth for historically-disadvantaged individuals and businesses, resulting in positive impact throughout Cuyahoga County.
