The CMHA PD is a nationally accredited police department by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The CMHA PD provides an exciting learning environment with a highly trained and well-disciplined team of law enforcement professionals who have earned the respect of the varied and diverse communities they serve.
As a newly appointed team member, you will be partnered with an experienced officer and learn how to provide superior law enforcement services. The CMHA PD provides professional development and wellness through access to ongoing training, mentoring and professional development for a long, fulfilling law enforcement career. Uniformed Officers typically work 12-hour shifts (7 a.m. - 7 p.m., 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.). Some team members work an 8-hour shift depending on the assignment.

- Interview in-person/virtual
- Computer Voice Stress Analyzer (CVSA)
- Physical agility
- Undergo a comprehensive background investigation and computerized history check
- Background verification interview
- Psychological examination
- Medical and drug screen
- A formal offer of employment
