OCIC awards CMHA grant to support additional summer youth programs

Western Reserve Revitalization and Management Company (WRRMC) and the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) in collaboration with the Footpath Foundation, Cleveland Public Theatre, The Girl Scouts, The Cleveland Food Bank and various community partners are excited to provide summer camp to the youth of Heritage View and Carver Park Homes. Thanks to a grant we received from Ohio Capital Impact Corporation, 15-20 youth will have an opportunity to engage in 6 weeks of summer camp.

Camp includes daily education enrichment activities, creative arts exploration, health and wellness programs, field trips and a one week day camp at Red Oak which provides a variety of outdoor activities including:

  • Archery
  • Hiking
  • Canoeing / Kayaking
  • Swimming (Camp staff will assess each camper's ability to swim and then provide the necessary lessons or gear to keep the child safe in the water)
  • Wall or Tree Climbing (each child climbing will wear a properly adjusted safety harness and helmet)
  • Camp games such as Ga Ga Ball

We are extremely excited to kick camp off Tuesday, June 20th – July 28, 2023.  Programming is offered Monday-Friday from 9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. and enrollment is currently open.
